biography
Linda Jasmin Mayer (°1986, Meran, IT) is currently living and working in Gent. Mayer has completed her Bachelor’s in Fine Arts, specialized in sculpture studies, at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera in Milan, her Master’s in Fine Arts at the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts, and additionally studied at the school of media art of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. Afterwards she participated in the ISP of Maumaus in Lisbon. She is currently a resident of the practice based research in Visual Arts program of HISK, Gent. Her work develops predominantly through mediums of video art and installation, often with sculptural and participatory aspects. She explores topics of social alienation and the interplay between humanity and nature. Linda Jasmin Mayer’s work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions in Italy, Spain, Finland, Denmark, Austria, Germany, Bulgaria, Belgium, Sri Lanka, Egypt, Russia and India. Her works are part of private and public collections.
